Pamela Genghini Muñoz
Pamela Genghiní Muñoz is a partner and an immigration attorney at The Islas Munoz Law Firm, PLLC in El Paso, Texas. She worked at Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center from 2004-2006 before leaving to attend UNM School of Law in Albuquerque, NM. Pamela became licensed in 2011 and has practiced immigration law exclusively. She served as President of the Board of Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center from 2014-2016, and as Chair of the New Mexico State Bar Immigration Law Section for 2014. In 2013, Pamela was consulted by the office of former Congressman and 2019 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke during his time as the U.S. Representative for the 16th Congressional district of Texas, and went on to collaborate with his office on several immigration advocacy measures. Her practice focuses on removal defense and family-based immigration, with a particular interest in the complexities of asylum and refugee law.
Kate Cartwright, PhD, MPH
Kate Cartwright, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Administration at the Univer- sity of New Mexico. Dr. Cartwright possesses 15 years of experience in immigrant advocacy work and 10 years of experience as an academic researcher of immigrant health and well-being. As an academic re- searcher she works with hospitals, private practices and a wide community of healthcare administrators in the Southwestern US to improve culturally responsive care. She is a recipient of funding from the National institutes of Health, The National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities, and the Con Alma Health Foundation.
